Fred Flops at VFW Conference

If you haven't seen the video of Fred's VFW conference speech, watch it if you don't believe me.

It was pathetic. Lacked energy. Rambling. Disjointed. Disappointing. Sad.

Please don't let this 1 and 1/2 term former senator further embarrass himself. He'll be worse than Bob Dole. Except for maybe hawking erectile dysfunction meds. Surely ole Fred! can still find a tv spot beyond a commercial ....

Please. No. Please.

Disclaimer:

We don't dislike Fred Thompson. He's a fine character actor. His service as a former Senator is acknowledged -- even though his record as a lobbyist far exceeds any legislative achievement he might try to claim. We simply feel that Fred is better suited at either reading cue-cards on a TV drama or maybe hitting the speaking circuit as a humorist than in trying to justify his return to national politics. We prefer a candidate who speaks clearly, concisely and intelligently -- without the folksy retorts and "ummm's..." and "uhhh's...." which characterize his grasp of current events.

But thanks, anyway, Fred. Stay healthy and enjoy those beautiful children, fella.
